Hello, I'm using Google Translate.
Is the Sound Blaster AE-9 compatible with the standalone version of Stereo Tool?
I previously used a USB audio interface, but latency was a problem. Trying to shorten the latency often caused the system to crash, so I'm thinking of switching to the Sound Blaster AE-9. Any suggestions? Thank you.ImageI'm in Taiwan, and Juli@'s sound cards are no longer available there.
Also, I previously purchased a standalone version for my radio station, but now I'm looking to purchase version 10.70 of Basic + Perfect Declipper + Advanced Dynamics. For use in a TV station, I need minimal and stable image and audio delays.

Hi,

The Latency wouldn't cause crashing
Latency with Stereotool is inevitable.. even turning off most features that require latency you wont get it low enough not to cause lipsync issues.

However, USB audio interfaces are the best choice to minimize system noise.

Personally.. I wouldn't touch a PCI card unless it was a Audio Sciences (ASI) or Digigram

Excuse my ignorance, but wouldn't a TV station be running software that could host the VST plugin? Then you compensate for any additional latency by adding a short delay to the video feed (I'd guess less than 250ms).

At least this is how I would set up OBS to stream something while keeping lip synch.

Thank you all for your replies.Thank you all for your replies.

I'll explain.

USB sound cards (asio) can sometimes suddenly become unavailable after prolonged operation, causing issues.

USB sound cards also have some inherent latency, though not excessive...

PCI sound cards are no longer common in Taiwan, and professional use is mostly limited to music recording studios.

In fact, for audiophiles, the sound quality of the Sound Blaster AE-9 is already near audiophile-level. Honestly, even with the highest-end equipment, the sound quality of an average living room LCD TV is subpar unless additional audio equipment is installed.

I also use it on the broadcast side of a satellite TV station, the final encoding stage. The main audio from the TV broadcast is first sent to the STEREO TOOL, and the output is then sent to the encoder and sent to the satellite. This ensures consistent volume and sound quality across the entire station's broadcasts. While it's impossible to achieve perfect audio/video synchronization without delay, even a delay of 0.1 to 0.3 seconds is acceptable. I've also considered using specialized equipment to delay the SDI video signal to achieve perfect synchronization with the STEREO TOOL, but that seems like a massive undertaking and would only get more complicated. Since the station broadcasts 24 hours a day, if any link had a problem, there would be no way to fix it immediately. That's ridiculous...
