I have a question. Is the stand alone version of stereo tools only for a computer using the input from the sound card as the source or is there a way to make it work with audio that is played on the computer?

You can use VAC for that. And it works for all standalone versions, not only for 6.32. Curious, why 6.32?

What is VAC?

I use 6.32 because I am not familiar with the new interface enough yet.

Oh ok thanks.

If I can find that software for free I may try it. If not I may buy a netbook and install the stand alone version of Stereo Tools on it.

Because NetBooks, have Atom cpu, and in best case DualAtom cpu, witch is not enough to run all ST filters.

Oh ok so even though some of the netbooks use a dual core processor it still isn't as powerful as an 11 year old computer running an AMD 64 3000+ processor which seems to run the stand alone version of stereo tools ok at least for the simple processing I do?

I'm guessing you're not doing FM?

To compare CPU speeds, check this list: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php

Look up what you have now, a CPU that has the same speed PER CORE should be able to do the same things. A few remarks:
- If a CPU has Hyperthreading, you need to divide it's reported speed by 1.3.
- Many filters in Stereo Tool will use upto 2 cores if they are available, so a CPU with 2 cores will be able to do more than one with 1 core, if the speed per core (!) is the same. To get the speed per core, divide the reported speed by the number of cores.

Stereo Tool 7.31 (the latest released version) uses a lot less CPU power for the same settings than the version you're using now, and it sounds better too. (And if you use the new features, a LOT better).
