Bojcha: Something seems to be wrong in the downsampler. If I set the input sample rate to 44.1 kHz, the input wave and volume look identical to the output, if I set it to 176400 or 192000, the output is different. And with Low Latency enabled I can even hear clicking sounds.
Yes... i set it 48kHz on input and this is gone.

I have just uploaded a new BETA2.

I think I've managed to increase the Loudness bass level a bit without causing more distortion. The mid-high frequencies are slightly (up to 0.1 dB) softer than in the previous BETA2, the lows are about 0.2 dB louder. The sound is now a bit closer to the original without using Loudness, so the slightly softer highs should not be a problem. The total output volume should be slightly higher (about 0.1 dB, so you probably won't notice any difference)
Hi Hans,
Great sound still, the bass is even better now. the overall sound is smooth, I may even call it super.

Much better bass response now, well it sounds more 'naturel' to me, some like it and others might not, but that is part of processing.

1s there a way to change the delay (ghosting) on the metering somehow, or make it switchable somehow?

Bojcha: I've uploaded another update (BETA2) where the up/downsampling quality is much better.

Luke: Assuming that you're using Stereo Tool as a plugin (so not the stand alone version):
Click on "Configure audio and display". There at the bottom you can set the delay time for the display. Default is 2 seconds, which is the Winamp default buffer size.

By the way, Bojcha, w.r.t. your high CPU load: Did you set the sampling rate to 192000 or 176400? 176400 uses about 8% less CPU power, with no effect on the sound quality...

i use 192kHz (from last night is on 48kHz input) .. i know for that it shuld use less cpu on 176.4kHz.. but cpu it's around 50% (both cores) and 55% on both cores it starts to droping.

i'll try new beta when i get home.

and.. someone maybe remember my old Aiwa reciver.. with 5-band graphic EQ. Finaly on 10kHz bar last diode lights up :)
now .. i don't know when this starts .. in what beta phase.. anyway good.

edit:
i did't persist and i do quick test here ... but same thing.. :(
i still must do a "cklick combination" to remove this "harmonics" (?)

Can i keep it on 48kHz? that way always work good and clean.

Well, there WAS something wrong with the up and downsampling that also caused a lot of annoying artifacts...

But I suppose that there's something else wrong as well. (You did use the beta2, right?) Will look into it again later today.

I just noticed that when using Virtual Audio Cable, if the Stereo Tool input frequency differs from the output frequency of the other player, really big extra spikes are visible in the display. If I switch the frequency of the other player, they disappear, so that must be caused by Virtual Audio Cable... :-(

The resampling in VAC seems to be pretty bad, so for the best quality, set the ST input frequency to the VAC sampling frequency (probably 44.1 kHz?). The output frequency will then change to 176.4 kHz.

Higher INPUT frequencies (176.4 or 192) are needed for sound cards (like the Juli@) which cannot handle different input and output frequencies. If you are using VAC as input, it doesn't matter.

These problem do not explain your problem - because you say if you click on a few buttons in ST it disappears...

For some reason I'm unable to reproduce your problem... Could you try the following to help me pinpoint the cause?

1. Open Stereo Tool SA, and click RESET.
2. Soundcards: Enable FM output.
3. FM window: Turn FM on, but nothing else!
Q: Do you see the pollution now?
4. Turn pre-emphasis on
Q: Do you see the pollution now?
5. Turn Encode stereo on
Q: Do you see the pollution now?

Thanks...

No problem i'll always help as much as i can..

so i try... reset all > fm output only > and FM ON only...
and this heppen again. after klik combination all is good.

i have doubts on VAC too.. but on first place when i present this problem last night. .. i instaled breakaway .. and in same way i put input signal like i put to ST (for a reason i did't use breakaway pipeline). So generator plays on VAC1 and that is imput for processor.
And on breakaway this is not case. i started 100 times with different VAC rates .. and always work..
but for ST not.
