Hey there If a company develops a free software, but the company disappears, anyone can modify or update the software? It is legally allowed? |

Depends on the software license, not on if the software is free. Usually one can find a license text in the software directory, the software itself or on their website. Most of the time companies are very clear about what is allowed. However sometimes they may grant you permission if you just ask them. |
