Winamp dsp ST: Does the composite clipper become enabled when selecting: Send To Winamp 'De-emphasized version of FM output'? Since it is disabled when set to 'Separately processed de-emphasized left/right FM output'. |

It is enabled in the output to Winamp, which means that if you want to use that signal to feed an external stereo and RDS coder, that's not a good idea. |

Also does the composite clipper become disabled during the following settings? -stereo encoder is disabled -pre emphasize output is disabled -pre emphasis is ENABLED -'send to Winamp' is set to either 'silence' or 'nothing' |

Maybe it's easier if you say what you want to do ![]() Also, if the composite clipper is disabled you can see that because: 1. The Composite Clipper checkbox is disabled 2. Output won't be clipped as tightly. I think in the situation that you describe it's indeed disabled, it makes little sense to use composite clipping without using stereo coding. |

Winamp dsp/kernel output Basically to me, the highs sounds slightly muffled if the composite clipper is enabled. |

Hm that's very strange. Highs should be louder, there's about 2-3 dB more headroom for peaks. Are you listening on FM? Edit: Winamp DSP output? Unless your source material is 176.4 or 192 kHz, the composite clipper won't work... you need to enable the FM sound card support. |

Using all wav files: ST 7.51/Unvail Hanz mod preset/fm75 Fm soundcard on Pre emphasis on Pre emphasis output off Stereo encoder off Send to winamp: de emphasized fm version(composite clipper enabled) Mpx volume & volume 2 are disabled(-.99) using breakaway pipeline as main volume control With the above settings: 1st attempt Results are louder, but the highs seems slightly buried. Average listener will probably not notice. 2nd attempt with similar settings but composite clipper is disabled. And send to winamp is set to: silence/nothing Results are not as loud but the highs sounds better(unmuffled). |

Update: Installed beta 7.52 v009 and the issue seems to be fixed. With the composite clipper enabled, the highs now sounds fuller and unmuffled. ![]() |

Hm, and you were really using 7.51 before? Strange... but if it´s fixed, great ![]() |
