Hello, Hans, and first, huge congratulations for your fabulous software!

Well, i use Stereo Tool winamp plugin almost permanently on my system.

I use SereoTool winamp plugin through BreakAway Live v0.90.96 (trial) pipeline.
BreakAway live processing is disabled, i use only the Virtual Soundcard feature that is free to use, and it works fine with Winamp Plugins.

This solution is working perfectly every day and i never had any problem, since i decided to upgrade to ST 7.42

When Breakaway starts (when windows starts) ST runs like normally but no sound on output.
StereoTool shows output levels, but BreakAway output VU meter don't. HD-audio output remains silent.
I tried to bypass processing, sounds comes back. Just by deactivating the bypass, it muted again (but still showing sound on ST output, not on BA out).

I could blame breakaway, but before, i tried to change StereoTool preset. So, few presets are working, others not.
I rebooted the system, played with some presets (AGC, limiter, noise reduction, turned on FM settings) nothing changed the mute state.

So it's quite strange that some configurations works and some don't. Many of factory presets and personnal ones stayed silent, just a few were sounding.

I have re-installed ST v7.40, and it's working normal again (before and after reboot)

Do you have any explanation of feedback about this issue?

Running Windows 8, x64, Core2Quad Q8200 (2,95ghz)/8gb and HD audio.

I really don't know what could be causing this. It sounds like something inside Stereo Tool that crashes, but then you also wouldn't see the output signal in Stereo Tool. The chance that something goes wrong in the steps between the part where the display audio is taken and where it actually gets sent to the sound card is small - but something must be happening otherwise you would have audio.

This is probably a completely useless test, but could you try what happens if you send the output directly to a sound card instead of the Breakaway pipeline? It doesn't make any sense that it would fix anything, but let's just try to rule out everything... Also, please check the sound card volume setting in Stereo Tool.

Are you using FM presets? Can you list some that work and some that don't?
