Don't know if this is the correct place to post this . But I'm looking for a way to filter out certain frequencies on windows before they get to my speakers. On all sounds that come out of windows. I have been getting ringing in my ears especially when I use ventrilo with my friends, some of them have really hissing mics, and I would like a way to filter this out but would also like to generally filter out anything below 40hz and above 18000hz, I'm trying to rule out if it is my headphones or not.

Is there any way to use this program to filter ALL windows sounds before they go to my headphones? I downloaded the stand alone and it seems like its only for in and out, but not as a replacement for your windows mixer.

Download and install a Virtual Audio Cable like this: http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/Cable/index.htm

Set the Virtual Audio Cable-Device as the Standard Sound Device in the Windows-Sound-Settings. Then, start Stereo Tool Standalone and Set the Virtual Audio Cable as Input device, and your Soundcard as Output device (you probably will need the Low Latency Output). Then, audio from all applications like Skype etc. will go through Stereo Tool.

There's also a new (free/donationware) alternative to Virtual Audio Cable: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4911

Ow. Lol. Virtual Audio Cable is the name of another program so I didn't look at your link :)

Anyway, you can use either. But VAC says "Trial" every few seconds until you pay.
