Hey Y'all, I'd like to know which distro of Linux to use for best operation of this software. Windose reboots after updating, causing loss of transmission. A Linux box would be preferred. Thanx

You can of course turn those automatic updates off in Windows. I've tested it myself with Ubuntu, but it should work with any version. Small word of caution: My build is currently 32 bits, not 64 bits. You can still run it on 64-bit Linux, you'll just need to install more (32 bit) libraries. And there's no sound card support, currently Stereo Tool for Linux only supports file based processing and piping - you can use "arecord | stereo_tool | aplay" to get around that. MPX output is only supported if the input sample rate is high enough! At some point in the (not too distant) future I want to switch to some OS-independent sound card control, which will then also work on Linux. But it's not at the top of my list. |
