Hi, I e-mailed this question from the website "Contact Us" section two weeks ago but no reply. Very disappointed to be ignored so here is my question again:

In order to use ALL the features of "Repair - Modern Recordings" along with "Processing - Adaptive Bass Monster Dense" just sitting here at home playing music on my W10 home computer with the StereoTool Winamp plugin with no radio broadcast features needed what license do I need to pay for?

Thank you for your patience. Hans has been away on business for the past few weeks, which is why your earlier email has not yet been addressed.

Regarding your question — the features used by “Repair – Modern Recordings” and “Processing – Adaptive Bass Monster Dense” settings may draw from multiple licensed modules in Stereo Tool. You can check exactly which ones are active by going to:

Configuration → License

Any feature highlighted in green is licensed.

Features that are greyed out but used by your preset will trigger periodic reminders.

If you want to stop the reminders without purchasing, you can click “Turn off all unlicensed features”.
If you prefer to keep all the features active, simply note which unlicensed modules are in use, click “Buy or upgrade license”, and purchase those from the Stereo Tool website:
https://www.thimeo.com/stereo-tool/buy/?10.70,-,about

This way, you can license exactly the features required for your chosen settings, without paying for modules you don’t need.

Hi. The short answer for you would be Basic license + Declipper addon + Advanced Dynamics addon.

To break it down:
You don't need any of the "FM" labeled licenses since you won't be using the software for FM broadcasting; so Basic should do to start with.
Then, for the Repair section, you want the Declipper addon primarily.
And for the Adaptive Bass Monster preset, you want the Advanced Dynamics addon. This enables the Adaptive modes in the multiband compressors.

Thanks for your replies, fellas.

So it seems 319euros. I gotta say that with that pricing structure "Hans" must think the world is 99% populated by wealthy europeans ;-)

It's more that these algorithms are professional studio and broadcast quality; and offering them at the current price for a lifetime of free updates is, in fact, on the less expensive side when compared to many studio plugins. I recall them kicking around the idea of a pay-as-you-go/rent-to-own non-subscription format for payments, but I don't know how far that idea made it.

As a broke American, I can attest that buying the addons as you need them is the way to go. I used to swear by the Declipper (still do), but I think the consistency of the Adaptive multibands (Advanced Dynamics) might outweigh it if I had to choose just one for multimedia playback.

It all depends on what you plan to consume, though. For just music, I would prioritize the Declipper. If you watch live streams, I would prioritize the Advanced Dynamics addon.
