Post subject:  Where are the translation files on 10.11 version?
Hello,
The French translation of the latest version of Stereo Tool (basic version for Windows 64) displays rectangles instead of accents.
My questions :
1/ does anyone know where the french translation file is on the 10.11 version?
2/ If not, how can I set Stereo Tool to be in English only?

Hiya. I don't have actual answers to your questions, but I may have a workaround until this is fixed.

You can enable the Web Interface and try to access it from a web browser. I have a feeling the accent characters will appear correctly in a browser.

It's at the bottom of the main Application Settings window. You may need to forward/trigger a port on your router to access the port the software uses. But this port is configurable in case you already have some forwarded.

Oh wow, I hadn't even thought of this.
For now, ST10.x doesn't support other languages than English. Due to the complete redesign of the interface, that mechanism couldn't be reused: it would only partially work, and we wanted to do things right. (Localization will be supported, just not yet.)

So what you're seeing is it partially working: we forgot that users that are loading ST settings from a previous version, the language setting in particular, will see the broken behaviour. What's worse, with no way to go back to English from within the app.

What you can do, is modify the settings .ini file manually.
Navigate to
Code:
%UserProfile%\stereo_tool.ini
and change the line that starts with
Code:
Language=
to
Code:
Language=Standard (English)

Thanks to T.J. Evers and MrKlorox.
Finally, I chose T.J. Evers' solution because I'd rather work with the original text (even if I don't understand everything!!) rather than with a French translation that's a bit out of date and that I can't modify.
