Post subject:  Refined optimisation for lossy compressed output?

I wondered if there was any mileage for ST to refine the optimisation function depending on the lossy codec being used to encode the output for streaming?

For example, some may choose to use 128K 44.1Khz MP3, whereas I am using 320K 48Khz AAC - so should there be a difference in how the processing is optimised for low bitrate MP3 compared to high bitrate AAC? When I use the optimisation settings for lossy compression, I wonder if 'one size' really fits all. If so, then perhaps telling ST what the encoder settings are may help improve the optimisation function.
