StereoTool has a nice ITU1770/"LUFS"-meter. I have attached a picture of it for your reference.

However, it has one big drawback: it's hard to read. The readout should be around -13 - -12.

Edit: it looks like it's saying -16 dB actually. Aha! It's preprocessing... KK. Maybe add another post processing.

But how can you really tell? I can't. I just know from other tools available.

A scale is probably not feasable. But what about a digital reading like "-12.8". And why not adding a True peak-meeter and maybe a loudness range as well? It's a great thing to have on StereoTool, but it needs improvement.

Actually that meter is half-wrong at best.
When it's one bar, like that, it's assumed that is PowerSum of 2 channels, but it's kinda not. It's not PowerSum nor 2 channels since it measures with 1 bar.
Also BS1770 rely on some time averages. One implemeted in that bar is so wrong.
And yes, peek level would be also nice, some numerical measurement and some visual bars with numbers.

Agreed. Now that we have a new UI coming with better text scalability, I would expect number values to be implemented sooner or later. I really hate running an extra loudness meter (even though it's all for personal use, I still like to keep it around -14 to -16 LUFS; OCD-style). Maybe a small line graph of the last few seconds could be included with it. It doesn't need to be a full-on Youlean clone.

On Linux with jack you can run ebumeter for a LUFS meter.

What I've have notice is that both calculate the same LUFS so I don't think that stereo-tool is showing any errors here.

Still, the display for LUFS in stereo tool could be much better.

That depends on how much is framework easy to be that hard changed.

Sure. But you already have the data for the graph, so representing it as a number should be no big problem? Or is it? As for the other features, they would be nice to have, but no big loss not to.
