We got the registered version of ST for our station about a week ago and had some ideas that could be beneficial ![]() 1) A parametric eq would be cool to replace the graphic variant in ST, a user can specify which bands he wants to equalise, some other benefits of it are here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parametric ... plications 2) Maybe even a parametric compressor and/or AGC, not sure what the benefits would be, never seen them before so I don't know if there are any. 3) A "processing chain control window" to control stereotools processing sections, so you can turn turn off/on AGC, add/delete processing sections or even reroute them (stereo enhancer before AGC or vice-versa etc) These are just ideas and probably involve alot of work, I posted them because stereotool to me is exciting ![]() |

I like that ideas, here my wish list... 1) I Believe that is a good idea to replace the existing graphic equalizer by a parametric. 2) To Add an equalizer parametric sidechain in the compressor singleband/limiter 3) To Adapt all the stereotool so that be to modulate, all the processors be able reorganizate and to connect in the order that be necessary, similar to the T-Racks 3 |

I think the parametric EQ/Compander/AGC would make ST sound different on certain types of music, especially if there were presets for different types of music (classical, rock, pop, rap etc) I'm sure hvz could tell us otherwise though ![]() |

I can honestly tell you that I really don't have a clue. ![]() ![]() You might be interested in the mean time in the latest BETA version ( viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2661&start=180 ), in which I modified the multiband compressor to have a much more stable (flatter) output. Before, a tone between 2 bands would come out nearly twice as loud as a tone in the center of a band, now the difference is only a few percent. I'm getting back reports that for certain types of music it has a big effect, and sounds better. |

Native WASAPI (new audio API in Windows Vista/7) support would also be useful (both shared and exclusive mode). |

That would be brilliant as it offers low latency support through WaveRT drivers, I tried asio support a while ago with ST (and a few other programs) on windows vista and it was scratchy but mind you it was with the asio4all driverHans I've been trying out your latest builds and can say that ST is progressing in an excellent way. the ideas I mentioned are probably more along featuritis but I think some parametric controls might make ST go a long way ![]() Naturally, its up to testing it of course ![]() |

In the latest BETA versions I have put the multiband frequencies in the STS file. So you can now create a preset, then manually open the STS file, edit the frequencies, and then continue editing the preset. Not very user friendly, but if you really want to try it you can. viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2661&start=700 Search for: "Center frequency - Band" ... in the STS file. |
