More framework updates.
Crash solved when using composite clipping with no FM output enabled.
The VST plugin in audacity is crashing, when you want to open it.

The Dump of Audacity says the following:
Code:
<context>
<exception address="10d9cf70" name="ACCESS_VIOLATION" code="c0000005"/>
<registers>
<eax>00000000</eax>
<ebx>00000000</ebx>
<ecx>0b94b580</ecx>
<edx>0b94b580</edx>
<esi>00000001</esi>
<edi>655b26f8</edi>
<ebp>0145e2f8</ebp>
<esp>0144e00c</esp>
<eip>10d9cf70</eip>
<cs>00000023</cs>
<ds>0000002b</ds>
<es>0000002b</es>
<fs>00000053</fs>
<gs>0000002b</gs>
<ss>0000002b</ss>
<flags>00210246</flags>
</registers>
</context>
The Audacity Callstack seems to be the following:
Code:
  <frame level="0"/>
    <frame level="1"/>
    <frame level="2"/>
    <frame level="3" function="VSTPluginMain" offset="001a9e88"/>
    <frame level="4" function="VSTPluginMain" offset="0002f62e"/>
    <frame level="5"/>
    <frame level="6"/>
    <frame level="7" function="VSTPluginMain" offset="00000021"/>
    <frame level="8" function="NyquistEffect::GetName" offset="00002bb1"/>
    <frame level="9" function="Effect::Startup" offset="00000042"/>
    <frame level="10" function="EffectManager::GetEffect" offset="00000137"/>

@near05: Confirmed, and I hope I've just fixed it... (not sure yet, I need to run a new full compile).

Reduced memory usage a lot, this might fix the Audition problem (and it's better anyway).

Windows 32 bit:
Windows stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 01-011.exe
Winamp DSP: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 01-011.exe
Windows VST 32 bit: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 01-011.dll

Known issues:
- Low Quality Low Latency monitoring (stand alone version) is disabled for now
- Generic plug-in (not posted) FM output to host doesn't work.
- Memory leaks on close

i tried it again in Adacity (not in Audition) and the Plugin opens again. But there's a new ACCESS_VIOLATION, when you click the play button in the plugin or if you click ok. since audacity crashes completetly i make a screenshot. i will send you a link in a private message to the minidump of the audacity process. it maybe helps you.

dsp beta 801-011 started up on SAM here.

Private bytes incl. SAM 1.1 GB

Edit: runs for several hours now, activated a 2nd thread which gave a more balanced performance on my AMD A8-3870 - 4 core, and lower cpu temp!

I got this Exception when try to run Stand Alone in XP SP3 the very last beta.

And some info in this window is changing ( 0x4800 is disappearing sometimes)
and on upper row text "Chain thread" changes to NULL and all other text is disappearing too.
Also i cannot close this exception window :)

BETA801-011 standalone is not acting right. My left channel is bleeding into the right and sounding mono. Earlier versions are no problem.
Goes back to stereo when I disable FM Transmitter (enable button). In this screen capture, no audio input in left channel but getting an output (should be straight line also on output)

Please send me your settings so I can test it. I'm currently reducing the memory usage a lot (because it was way too high and causing problems with Audition among others), but I might have removed too much somewhere - if I did that can cause all kinds of problems. I haven't seen any yet though, which is why I'm asking for your settings.

Just to make sure: Earlier versions = BETA010? Because I have also rewritten the whole FM section... which could have changed the behavior in this (really weird - it still doesn't make sense to output RDS on a stereo signal with different audio in left and right channel). The only reason why this would be somewhat useful is if your transmitter does some very weird stuff with the audio.

I doubt this will help any, but the same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago. After fighting it for a half hour, I loaded a fresh preset and restarted everything. The problem went away and I haven't been able to reproduce it since.

If nothing else, just a confirmation that it's not just Valiant.
