Thanks, phantomfm! I'm mainly interested what shape values mean, like <1 ?= speedup, 1 ?= neutral, >1 ?= slowdown, etc. Also with auto shape off does the shape stay the same when changing the attack/release times? In other words do we want to change the shape value to get back the same shape for different timings or do we intentionally want different timings to have different shapes? |

Using VST, with beta 4 VDJ message "This plugin does not seem compatible with VirtualDJ 8". Beta 2 runs fine. |

The shape control describes the relationship in compressor Speeds vs. Level difference.I'm mainly interested what shape values mean, like <1 ?= speedup, 1 ?= neutral, >1 ?= slowdown, etc. Also with auto shape off does the shape stay the same when changing the attack/release times? In other words do we want to change the shape value to get back the same shape for different timings or do we intentionally want different timings to have different shapes? lower values means more or less constant speeds, higher values causes the compressor to react slower to smaller Level differences than to bigger differences. Comnpared with the automatic door-closers it describes how much faster the door closes when you press with force against it, or how much force do you need to cause the door closes x % faster than without your pressing. With low shape values you wouldn't be able to close the door faster with even much force, on higher values it will more follow your force. Regards, Robert |

BETA783-005: Stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 83-005.exe DSP: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 83-005.exe VST: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 83-005.dll CHANGES: - True Bass is called WARM BASS in the LOAD/SAVE pull-down. WB in menu at bottom should be TB. - GUI bug: Separately processed streaming output: Lowpass frequency not displayed correctly. - GUI bug: Pre-emphasizing for MP3 is disabled - shouldn't be. - Update from version 7.40 with Simple Clipper disabled, Amplification set to 0 and Pre-limiter enabled causes silence in output in 7.50+. - Was caused by a combinations of settings in Simple Clipper which was not in use! - Add clipping at 75 while BS412 limiting at 50, for stations that stream using a lossy codec to their transmitter site. - Add Generic plugin function to set parameter values. OLDER CHANGES: - Made WinMM block size half-as-big for buffer sizes < 400 ms - Auto synchronization mode is OFF when any of the affected buffer sizes is < 250 ms - Added Presets dropdown menu and Bypass in web interface top bar. No reset, load and save yet. - Also redesigned some code for faster compiling (but it doesn't appear to help). TO BE DONE: - 2 decimals for limiter value - Bug fix: Error in AM AF frequency list for RDS. Some high AM frequencies might not have been encoded correctly. - Crash while continuously (for a really long time) adjusting Buffer size, complete hangup: http://i.imgur.com/06jenht.png - bug: Set "ignore highs" freq using keybord (cursor up) brings cpu usage to max. [red bar] - Fix some build errors. - Turn Warm Bass on in Phantasy 87, reduce bass a bit to compensate. - Test RDS AF AM freqs fix with RdsSpy. - Cannot check, should be fine. - Update presets! - Make export of ParameterEnum for generic plugin customers. - Add Maurice Verschuuren's preset LATER: - If possible to make limiters for high freqs using very fast "limiter speed" (under 1ms already some distortion) --> I finally know how to do this now!!! ![]() ![]() - AGC gating: Add switch to "Gate Based on Level after AGC" - ND input detection - Add new (fixed) ITU1770 to AGC too. Would be also good to be seen in PEQ graph. - Add/change 2 and 3 band AGC with crossover similar to "Power bass" crossover. - Advanced clipper gui stuff order change http://i.imgur.com/N1k1ZX8.png (space) --> No, left column is usually the most important/basic stuff. |

I really need to update the help page about the analog compressor, with a lot of images to explain the effect of each setting. |

I don't think I changed anything that should have caused something like this, please try if 005 is ok again. If so it might just be that you have a partial download or something.

Not seeing that here, except if you mean the GUI CPU usage - that does indeed go to over 95%. And stays there for a while after releasing the key. Behavior might have changed due to the sound card handling redesign. Could you retest?

I don`t see any need of changing in the Compressor window . Everything looks good. |
