32 bit stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 44-002.exe List of changes: THIS VERSION: - Fixed VLC synchronization behavior (now synchronizes to input, before it turns out it synchronized to an internal VLC timer). This means that synchronization will be much more precise now on short term, and drifting apart which could happen before should also be gone. - Fixed VLC crash in 32 bit version introduced in previous beta 744-001. - Loading a preset no longer resets Auto-start with Windows, Detect and attempt to fix sound card/VLC timeouts, Restart on crashes or unsolvable sound card timeouts OLDER: - Lost audio when playing with MB flatness levels at maximum steepness, exceptions logged on 64 bit - SOLVED. - AGC bugs reported by Action (page 2 of this discussion), solution is to change range of parameters. SOLVED. - Error message must be changed: "I had that restart ST error as well when I had loaded a settings file which had another audio card defined. I just selected the right audio card and it was OK." DONE (not yet in next beta) - Speedup building by removing stuff from Param.h - Changed AM presets (now enable "AM" mode, and pre-emphasis for US). - Juli@ sound card problem nelson c. - BAD TIMER RELATED - FIXED by doubling timeout time. - AM MPX display does not work - sometimes -> oddly I cannot get it to 'not work' anymore... -> Seems sample rate related. Now hiding the display when sample rate is low. - Remove exception message when loading a preset with a non-existent language setting (from a different pc). -> Hm, I can't reproduce it anymore... - 64 bit restarting twice behavior: When I click the “TEST ERROR (CRASH)” button, an ST-dialog box show up, and after clicking OK, Stereo Tool crashes and restarts itself, runs for about 10 seconds, and then it crashes and restarts once again. So far unable to reproduce it, and after restarting twice everything is ok again. |

That site is currently showing an error ![]() It's usually located in C:\Users\<username> (Win Vista/7/8) or C:\Documents and Settings\<username> in WinXP. EDIT: Never mind! I just had that same error myself here and I've already fixed it. Will be ok in 002. Thank you very much Hans. Let me check the ST 7.44 002 EDIT: It runs ok now |

ETA744-002 - Error message about bad sound card ID's changed (it does not always require a restart). - Bug fix: FM transmitter synchronization did not function properly in stand alone version. - Bug fix: Setting some AGC settings to 0 could 'lock' the AGC. Setting to 0 no longer possible. - Bug fix: Changing MB flatness or frequency sliders no longer causes weird noises. - Bug fix: Invalid (NAN) values sent to compressor and clipper are now handled gracefully. - Bug fix: Loading a preset turned auto-start with Windows and watchdog off. - Bug fix: Sound card watchdog sometimes kicked in too soon - changed the timing. - Bug fix: AM frequency display is now hidden when no updates are calculated. - Presets: AM presets now turn on AM mode, US AM presets also turn on AM pre-emphasis. Edit: Something seems to be wrong with the 64 bit stand alone version. It does not start at all. |

For some time now (no, I haven't gone back through versions, but I can later if you need me to), when scrolling the preset list, CPU usage gets pegged and I get stuttering audio. Financials are still such that I did not get a new computer, so this is still the Athlon64 with XP. At any rate, might be GUI thread stuff or new CPU display. Dunno. Generic presets. 35-40% per Task Manager, until scrolling the list.Windows 32 bit: Winamp DSP: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 44-002.exe Is there an override for turning off the CPU display, or can an option for it to be disabled be added in? |

Quote: Edit: Looked up the documentation about Sleep, and it turns out that it does NOT behave exactly as I have thought (for many years). This one is not too difficult to fix, fortunately.
There are much better alternatives anyway, even if sleep did work how it should. Glad you're switching.
