When the preset menu is dropped down and you are ready to select a preset, moving the cursor over the various options appears to increase CPU usage dramatically as well as deplete the buffers significantly? Can someone else confirm?

I have also noticed that when using 'Load All Settings (Import)' and (re)loading a .sts file, I sometimes get red (error?) buffer indicators. I wonder if this might be related to ST restarting the ASIO drivers rather quickly and finding them still 'locked'??
I have just tested the last beta on two machines and both seem to exhibit the increased CPU usage I saw with the drop-down preset menu. Can you confirm this behaviour Hans?

Yeah i think that composite setting have to be with max 0.5 db down for the 100% of slider .. cause i see down to -90 db some peaks showing after filter . Or just slider for composite limiter to become from 80 to 120% . Now is from 100 to 120 .
may be this is the right option for this feature :)

@Chris:
Probably caused by one of these two changes:
- Display clipper boost in GUI
- Dynamically switch off distorted highs etc. for loud tones.

Will run a measurement.

Edit: Difference is so small I cannot measure it... What was your CPU load with the older beta that still worked? And what is it with the new one?

With display speed at 0 no redraws should occur unless you move the mouse over the window.

Btw - I checked the released version 7.03, not the 702-004 beta version... Could be different.

I replaced today 7.03 beta1 with final 7.03 version on transmitter and didn't notice more cpu usage.
However moving window around gives very big CPU jumps, no metter what is "display refresh speed" settings - both cores to almost 100% which ofc gives stuttering.
"Display refresh speed" does not have big impact on cpu - atleast compared to moving main window around.
