I know for the hard limit but no , it`s not enabled. Just listen to Normal output to some song , i can upload some special to hear the difference. Definitely there is some limiting when you press pre-emphasis ON. OK i found something : I use the Simple clipper , so when it`s enabled and when i turn ON/OFF the pre-emphasis i notice the limiting. But when i turn off the Simple clipper i`m not noticing this "limit" when switching the emphasis . The thing is why when i turn off the emphasis , the Simple clipper not do it like when we have emphasis ON ? Do you want me to make some video with audio to see? May be the behavour is right but , why i cannot use Simple clipper to listen the |Normal output without notice this limit when have emphasis ON. May be the option "Separate process streaming ouput" must be outputed from other place of processing? mean not to affect by emphasis button. Here is this song : http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/5 ... --mp3.html Let the FM output to work as usual with all the options like Pilot, Emphasis and RDS if you like. Then listen to the Normal Output with Simple clipper enabled only. Then turn ON/OFF emphasis and see the big difference of highs. Is this can be avoided from the normal output ? |

Hmm.. It seems the FLAC does not work at all with RTP.. It does partially work with Icecast but no audio is coming although network bandwidth is being used. |

Can you get it to work with VLC without using Stereo Tool?

The simple clipper does not work well for FM (it doesn't use oversampling so you have no good spike protection) - you *need* the Advanced Clipper for that. And if you registered FM you can use it.

When normal output is on "separate stream output", there is no problem with Advanced clipper. This is like it should be (If you choose another option exept this, the Advanced clipper also has affection on Normal output) . But with Simple clipper is having problem . This is what i mean to be avoided and is not like should be. Only it affects on the Normal output. When choosing the De-emphasised version of FM or other options i think all is like it should be. Why Advanced clipper not affects Normal output on "Separate stream output" but Simple clipper does. This is what i mean for correct the Separate stream output not to care if emphasis is ON or OFF nevermind what clipper is enabled. And this should be done only for this option. If i cannot explain it right because of all the options that are now , i can still make a video with audio to show. |

The problem seems to be the Pre Limiter in the Simple Clipper. If that's enabled and set at a level where it acts on loud highs, they are damaged (but they will be damaged on FM as well). When choosing the De-emphasised version of FM or other options i think all is like it should be. If i cannot explain it right because of all the options that are now , i can still make a video with audio to show. I could fix this, but actually I think that whole "Pre Limiter" shouldn't be used if you use the Advanced Clipper (and if you don't use the Advanced Clipper you're not using FM and then the whole thing doesn't make much sense anymore). |

But why this pre-limiter is activated only if i press the emphasis ON?when OFF highs are not damaged in the Normal Output. This is what i`m not able to realize. That is why i said on "Separate processed streaming output" only the Simple limiter is affect the highs. Advanced one is OK and act just GOOD. And only if you change the option in the Normal output then even the Advanced clipper starts to affect the highs , but this is right behavour . The thing is only for the Separate stream output. |

Point is that I don't process the simple clipper separately for FM and non-FM. So, this damage always occurs in the FM output - but if you enable normal output and select separate processing, this part of the processing is not done separately.

Finally the video , but it seems you clearly understand me for what i`m talking about. But nevermind you can see the video just to be sure you understand (download it if not running on site). I saw that you said some prelimiter , but i`m not using it either. this checkbox is also OFF in the Simple clipper. http://www31.zippyshare.com/v/93396895/file.html |

I'm not saying that this behavior is optimal. But, it doesn't make any sense to have FM output and use the simple clipper. Because the FM signal that's generated that way isn't protected against inter-sample overshoots. Unless you also enable Hard Limit, but then you get the same type of damaged highs again. And the FM output sounds equally bad anyway. So these settings are just not good. But nevermind you can see the video just to be sure you understand (download it if not running on site). I saw that you said some prelimiter , but i`m not using it either. this checkbox is also OFF in the Simple clipper. http://www31.zippyshare.com/v/93396895/file.html I'm now actually thinking that I should remove the simple clipper completely.... But it's needed for people who don't have a registered version. |
