Quote: Quote: Quote: Hello, I have problems with the sound card in this version (Juli @)
Can you give me the *exact* message?Luedo two or three hours a pop-up window that could not restore output. Restore to 7.41 and it works fine. I am using to broadcast on FM. And when you get it, does audio stop playing? Timeout Detected: Sound card input or outpot did not respond. And there is no audio output. Just just appeared as soon as I open the program. When restored to 7.41 all is well. Also, in your first message you wrote that you got an error after 2-3 hours, and in this message it's immediately - can you please tell me exactly what happens? |

List of reported issues: - VLC crashes on 64 bit stand alone Windows version SOLVED AND ALREADY RELEASED. - Lost audio when playing with MB flatness levels at maximum steepness, exceptions logged on 64 bit - SOLVED. - AGC bugs reported by Action (page 2 of this discussion), solution is to change range of parameters. SOLVED. - Error message must be changed: "I had that restart ST error as well when I had loaded a settings file which had another audio card defined. I just selected the right audio card and it was OK." DONE (not yet in next beta) - Speedup building by removing stuff from Param.h - Changed AM presets (now enable "AM" mode, and pre-emphasis for US). - Juli@ sound card problem nelson c. - BAD TIMER RELATED - FIXED by doubling timeout time. - AM MPX display does not work - sometimes -> oddly I cannot get it to 'not work' anymore... -> Seems sample rate related. Now hiding the display when sample rate is low. - Remove exception message when loading a preset with a non-existent language setting (from a different pc). -> Hm, I can't reproduce it anymore... - 64 bit restarting twice behavior: When I click the “TEST ERROR (CRASH)” button, an ST-dialog box show up, and after clicking OK, Stereo Tool crashes and restarts itself, runs for about 10 seconds, and then it crashes and restarts once again. So far unable to reproduce it, and after restarting twice everything is ok again. The ones in GREEN are already fixed, RED are the most important remaining ones. |

Quote: However, Stereo Tool crashes whenever I enable Normal Output streaming to VLC.
That's fixed now (as you have confirmed).
Quote: And when I open Stereo Tool again, it runs for a few seconds, and then it closes itself and opens again. Not playing with this anymore, as Stereo Tool is processing the FM signal!
Do you still see this? My guess is that this was related also to a nonrecoverable VLC crash, and if so it should not happen anymore now. Btw - it should also display a crash message if it still happens; if so I would like to know what it is.
Quote: UPDATE: Even when "restart on crashes..." is disabled, Stereo Tool still closes and then re-opens itself (with audio dropping out for about a second), when I re-open the application after a crash.
This should not be possible at all - I've checked all the places where a restart is scheduled and they all demand that this setting is enabled. However, if it is disabled AFTER the crash occurs, ST will still restart. I have just changed that (a minute ago). If a crash occurs, again, I would like to know the exact message.

No use ASIO at all because it is useless to us, nor have tried another sound card. What of the time it takes to appear perhaps always the same and is a few minutes. Update ST night. The next day there were four messages warning listeners that the radio was cut to 2/3 hours following the upgrade. So I assumed it was after three hours approximated. When I saw the problem immediately went back to previous version. Yesterday attempt back to see what was the error message and then it appeared.

Ok, I have a pc here with a Juli@ and I've just installed VAC on it and loaded your preset - will see what happens...What of the time it takes to appear perhaps always the same and is a few minutes. If you can - could you try what happens if you load version 7.43 and press 'RESTART SOUND CARDS' a number of times? If that also gives you an error, can you try if it works fine in the older version? |

There was no other message besides this(Timeout Detected: Sound card input or output did not respond.). If I remember correctly the color bar buffer disappeared. At dawn, I'll be performing the checks and pay more attention. Sorry for my English. |

However, after 14 seconds, it crashes and re-opens again. I also recorded the corresponding audio (from web stream, sound from Normal Output.) so you can hear what's going on, too. Download: https://www.wetransfer.com/downloads/dc ... 927/8f6460 Edit: The version installed is the updated 7.43 (no beta). There was no other message besides this(Timeout Detected: Sound card input or output did not respond.). If I remember correctly the color bar buffer disappeared. At dawn, I'll be performing the checks and pay more attention. Sorry for my English. It's still a bit scary that it causes things to stop working completely on your system... But anyway, this should be easy enough to fix. To confirm this, can you test if it works fine if you set the buffer to - say - 3 seconds? Edit: Something weird is happening with timing - and not on all systems. The timeout is programmed at 10 seconds but it detects it at 5 now. And similarly, the crash window should be displayed 10 seconds and in the video that EliasKrause just posted it only displays for 5. And the same is now happening on my system (but it wasn't before, when I had the display refresh rate set higher). I was assuming that when sleeping 5 ms in a loop, each iteration should be AT LEAST 5 ms apart, but apparently that's not the case - it was on Windows XP though... (and works fine there too). Edit: Looked up the documentation about Sleep, and it turns out that it does NOT behave exactly as I have thought (for many years). This one is not too difficult to fix, fortunately. |
