Can you post a screen shot of your settings?

Just when I thought FM sound couldn't get any better, you release this version and blow my mind! Version 7.51 blew the competition away already, and now with version 7.60 the sound is so much improved, that I can't help to smile when I listen to the station, especially when comparing to the competition running expensive Omnia and Orban boxes  The difference is huge, I'm really having a hard time believing what I'm hearing. Het is lekker geluid Hans!

And yes, I will calm down now!

One question: There seems to be a big difference between the two Unveil FM (50 μs) presets - the regular one and the dutch version. I believed that the only difference was that the dutch version had Stokkemask enabled, while the regular one hadn't.
But there is several differences between the two:
1) Dutch version has Phase Delay enabled, the regular version doesn't
2) Dutch version has quite extreme gain settings in Power Bass and Power Highs, regular doesn't
3) Dutch version has higher levels of "Always clip deep bass below" and "Dynamically reduce deep bass to" than regular version
4) Another thing that I find strange is that both versions has Stokkemask enabled. Shouldn't it be enabled only on dutch version?

I hope you can explain the differences and meaning with regular presets vs "dutch edits" and why these differences makes sense. Thanks!

Hi Elias,

Thanks! Where can I hear your station? ;) (I see Denmark in your email address, hm, that's too far to just drive to for a quick listen :( )

The Dutch version was modified by me to match the (usually very bright) sound of Dutch stations. I have to say though that this time I didn't have an FM transmitter with me when I created it so it might be too much... And also nearly all stations here use processors that also have an effect like that Phase Delay.

About Stokkemask: It's actually a good idea to turn it on anywhere... And since 7.51 it doesn't take as much CPU load anymore. The advantage of Stokkemask is that it keeps the RF width limited, which - at least theoretically - should improve reception in difficult areas (multipath, weak signal). It has also been reported by people that it indeed does this.

I don't actually work for the station anymore, but the manager is a good friend of mine and I'm helping him out with the on-air processing - just because I love geeking around!

There's a stream you can listen to here: http://media.limfjordnetradio.dk/limfjordaac.m3u

There's no dedicated processing for the stream, it's just the Normal Output sending a separately processed version of the FM-signal (with no pre/de-emphasis) to Edcast. I'm hoping for, in a later version of Stereo Tool, to have separate control of the clipper drive on the separately processed Normal Output (hint hint ;) )

Right now we are running a slightly modified version of Unveil, and I'm playing around with different settings and amount of Phase Delay (very powerful!)

Thanks for the explanation on regular vs. dutch versions! Last time I drove around in Amsterdam I definitely noticed that special dutch sound - on almost all stations, so it makes sense :)

I have read about some varying results regarding Stokkemask and multipath, but since it may improve reception in multipath affected areas, I guess it won't hurt to turn it on!

But it was a runtime error in ST? Did ST close down?

Are you using VLC integration? I cannot stop all errors that might happen in VLC.

If not, was ST in the tray icon? That would rule out GUI errors.

Was minimized only (i mean clicked another window so ST was "under" . And i think yes it was with VLC . It can be really from it.

This happens when i don`t do anything with it . I was working on the other windows. Then the taskbar is changed and became orange blinking .. I click on it and saw "Microsoft runtime Error message".
