i have here 1280x1024...

Other windows are from other programs .. like firefox, notepad, winamp...

Performance is still OK.

Marino: After thinking a bit more about what I saw in your log files: The Stereo Tool DLL isn't even mentioned in the logging, nor are the DLL's that are loaded by Stereo Tool. This might (MIGHT!) indicate that it's actually not a problem in Stereo Tool, but in Station Playlist. The DLL is actually loaded and unloaded 5 times by another process of Station Playlist during startup without any issues, but the loading from the Engine process fails.

If this happens, can you make the window smaller again? Or is the minimum size locked to the new size?

i can always make it default (smaller)...

i am trying to force ST window to do that again .. but with this beta i still can't.

Bug found.

When latency is at 512 and i open a preset with latency of 4096 the program freezes and sound hangs.
I previously saved these presets with a latency of 512 and now they are all 4096 when i open them.
When i change it back to 512 save them and then load them they're back at 4096.

If i first click 4096 and then open the preset it don't hangs.

1. Quality, latency and screen update speed are not part of the preset - they are part of the global configuration of Stereo Tool. BUT that means that they should NOT be reset when you load a preset file from disk. This is a real bug that really needs fixing before I upload anything. Will post an update later tonight... :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry:
2. I've tried to reproduce the hangups here, but so far with no success. So:
- Which version of Stereo Tool are you using?
- Is this what you do? 1. Set Latency to 512. 2. Load a preset file --> hangup? If so, does it happen occasionally, or every time?

I hope problem 2 will be solved when the latency doesn't jump back to 4096 anymore when you load a preset. Although it does indicate a problem somewhere.

I use the latest version Stereo Tool version 5.00(May 2010), i downloaded it again tonight and installed it over the 5.00B version.
Yes i change latency to 512 and then load the preset again, it also happens if i load a different preset. Most of the times it crashes, but sometimes it goes good.

By the way, is this the Winamp, VST or stand alone version?

Could you try the following:
1. What happens if, instead of loading a preset, you press RESET?
2. If you're using the Winamp or VST version: Does it also crash if you load a preset if no audio is playing? If so, does it crash when you start playback again?

eldoradofm: I've now uploaded a new version where loading a preset doesn't set the latency anymore. Uploaded as BETA (use the links in the first post of this thread).

I hope this also fixes the crashes (it probably hides them instead of really fixing them, but for now that's good enough for me...)

I use the stand alone version.

Tried the new version. It still hangs sometimes when loading presets. It sometimes even hangs when selecting the same preset a couple of times. I removed stereotool and reinstalled it. Sometimes it also hangs when pressing reset.
