Just type *.sts and you'll see and can load all .sts files...

Wow. I just used one of the most clipped .wav's in the world... Beyonce/Jay-Z, Drunk In Love.

Amazing work. It's very cool to see the visuals in Adobe as opposed to the old interface.

I'm using Adobe Audition 3, and for some reason I can't seem to register the beta.

I can neither paste into the form, nor can I manually type in anything.

Do the betas not allow for registration?

(It looks and sounds AMAZING!)

That should work. Something must be keeping the keyboard input from reaching the declipper...

Further info on the process that got me here:

I originally put the beta .dll alongside my current declipper .dll. Adobe Audition, after reloading, and after refreshing the plugin directory, still only saw the original declipper, not the new beta.

My solution was to remove the old declipper .dll and reload Audition. This brought up the beta declipper, but it was unregistered.

I went to register it, and (and I'm working for memory here now so I'm not 100% on this part) the cursor as I remember was blinking in the entry box until I clicked on the box... then the cursor was solid and did not blink like I'm used to.

(Either there was no cursor and clicking on the box made it solid, or there was a blinking cursor that stopped blinking when I clicked on it; not sure which.)

I tried right-clicking to go to paste, with no result. I then tried ctrl-v, with no luck. I then tried typing letters and numbers, with no results, either.

I thought perhaps it had frozen, so I shut down and restarted Audition. I had identical results getting back in.

If there's anything else I can provide you, any sort of information or any tests you'd like me to run, I'm happy to help! Just let me know and I'll do it.

I just tried it, in a different DAW, and had the same results as you.

Go to the folder where you put the DLL and there will be its ini file. Using a plain text editor like Notepad just paste your serial number into that. Works when you reload the DAW and the plugin.

Clipper, glad I'm not the only one with this issue! When something is ONLY happening on your computer, you start wondering if you've done something wrong. :)

However, I now have a new issue. Your solution of editing the .ini file to add the registration seems completely reasonable; however, as the attached file shows, I don't HAVE an .ini file... in fact, I tried looking in various places in the Adobe directory and sub-directories, and couldn't find a single .ini file!

I suspect Adobe must store the information somewhere else... but I'm baffled as to where.

It's a good tip, though, and thanks for reporting the same issue I'm having! I'm sure every bit of information helps Hans.

The ini file is in your Windows user directory.

In XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username\
In Vista, 7, 8: C:\Users\username\

Gene, The vst_perfect_declipper.dll isn't in that folder either.

Hans: BINGO! That did the trick. Registered and working perfectly.

Clipper: WHOOPS! LOL... you're 100% correct. I had pulled out the beta, then pulled out the original, too... When I saw the Stereo Tool beta .dll in there, I didn't even blink at it... I could have done a better job of getting a screen shot, by getting a shot with the beta .dll IN the directory... sorry.

Thank you both, so much! This still doesn't solve why I couldn't copy and past the code or type it in manually, but at least I can test it now.
