I have this one installed

VST: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 33-063.dll,which functions correctly.

Does Noise Gate use the values before preamp or after preamp?

Before. Pre Amp has no effect on declipper & noise gate.

I agree what else would be benefit for this input gain slider?
I wonder if we are thinking the same thing?

Say noise level coming in is -50 dB, Noise gate is set to -40 dB.
Then all noise is removed.

Increase Pre Amp, regardless how high, still all noise gets removed.

Increase Input Gain far enough, and some noise will pass.
